Rep. Travis Couture torches $250 million cut to K-12 schools
House Republican Budget Leader Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn, takes to the House floor to fight Senate Bill 6260, a bill from majority Democrats that slashes $250 million from K-12 education. Couture explains that despite passing massive tax hikes, Democrats are robbing kids of opportunities by cutting funding for Transition to Kindergarten, school buses, Running Start, and local effort assistance or levy equalization dollars that he says will hurt rural districts the hardest.
