Rep. Couture tells KVI’s Ari Hoffman how he’s fighting to protect children in drug-affected homes

In this episode on KVI in Seattle, Rep. Travis Couture speaks with Ari Hoffman about the ongoing controversy surrounding the “Keeping Families Together Act.” Couture, R-Allyn, one of the Legislature’s most vocal critics of the law, discusses the rise in child fatalities and near‑fatalities linked to situations in which children cannot be removed from homes with active drug use.

Couture outlines why he believes the law must be changed, the data driving renewed bipartisan concern, and his efforts to advance House Bill 1092 in the upcoming legislative session. He also talks about the response from lawmakers, and what he sees as the urgent need to protect vulnerable children.
