Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As the year winds down, I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope this season gives you time to slow down and enjoy the people who matter most. I’m truly grateful for the trust you place in me and the chance to serve you.
The 2026 legislative session begins Jan. 12, and I’ll be heading back to Olympia focused on the issues I hear about most at home: affordability, accountability and public safety.
As the lead Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, my top focus will be the state budget. Families are paying more for everyday necessities, yet state government continues to spend more without delivering better results. That’s not sustainable.
That’s why I introduced my Affordability First budget framework — to rein in spending, stop new or higher taxes, and protect working Washingtonians. Government should live within its means, just like the people it serves.
Protecting kids is another priority. I’ll be reintroducing House Bill 1092 to update the Keeping Families Together Act so the state can step in sooner when children are in unsafe situations, while still helping parents get treatment and work toward reunification. Children’s safety must come first.
I’ll also continue working with my colleagues to improve public safety — from addressing theft to holding dangerous offenders and sexually violent predators accountable.
Your voice matters in these conversations. Please remember to reach out to my office to share your thoughts, concerns, or ideas. Hearing directly from you helps me do this job the right way.
I’d also love for you to stay involved in the legislative process. Whether you’re able to come to Olympia or prefer to participate from home, there are several ways to follow along, learn more, and share your input. Learn how you can get involved and be a part of the legislative process here.
From my family to yours, happy holidays. I wish you a safe, peaceful and joyful season.
