Radio: Rep. Couture tells KVI it’s the state legislative Dems that cut Medicaid, not the feds
Rep. Travis Couture, House Republican budget leader, says new data shows legislative Democrats in Olympia cut Medicaid by nearly $800 million in the state operating budget in April, long before Congress acted in July. Speaking to KVI’s Phil Vandervort, Couture says that rather than pointing to the federal government for Medicaid cuts, state legislative Democrats need to take responsibility for slashing those benefits in the state budget and then using the savings to fund bureaucrats’ pay raises.
