Rep. Travis Couture joins KVI’s Ari Hoffman to talk going to “war” to save at-risk kids from fentanyl-addicted parents

Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn, sits down with KVI’s Ari Hoffman to share his ongoing effort to strengthen state laws to protect children from drug-addicted parents. Couture says even though majority Democrats refused his strong bill to protect kids whose parents have often already been referred to child protective services, majority Democrats are pushing only a weak version of his proposal. Couture continues to fight to strengthen that bill. If they don’t, he says we are very likely to see more of what we saw in 2022 – nearly 100 babies or toddlers dead as a result of fentanyl exposure or other abuse as a result of being left in the care of known, drug-addicted parents.
