Rep. Couture discusses concerns with low and/or no-bail court releases of violent criminals on the Ari Hoffman Show on KVI Radio
Speaking with Ari Hoffman on Seattle's KVI Radio, Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn, expressed concerns about judges releasing violent criminals with low or no bail amounts to the community.
Couture pointed out two instances, one in which a Thurston County judge released a suspected car thief led Thurston County Sheriff deputies on a dangerous pursuit. In the second incident, an accused pedophile charged with 1st-degree rape of a child was released by a Superior Court judge who issued a low bail requirement.
Couture says it sends a wrong message to criminals when they are so easily set free.
