Rep. Travis Couture questions state’s plan to have DOC distribute 30,000 doses of mifepristone


Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn, questioned the state's plan to have the Department of Corrections (DOC) distribute mifepristone, an abortion medication.

Senate Bill 5768 would direct the Department of Corrections to distribute the 30,000 doses of mifepristone to healthcare providers and healthcare entities across the state.

The bill passed 55-40 along caucus lines.
